What is Community Based Planning (CBP)?The Municipal Systems Act, 2000, introduced the process of municipal planning for district and local municipalities and the Integrated Development Planning Process, through which Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) are developed. CBP is a way of identifying locally defined (community) interventions which are able to contribute to the formulation of the IDP.
What is the IDP?The IDP is the principal strategic planning instrument which guides and informs all planning and development, and all decisions with regard to planning, management and development, in the municipality.
